The expression plaint has not been defined in the Civil Procedure Code, 1908. However it can be said to be a statement of claim, a type of document by presentation of which a suit is instituted. Order VII of the CPC 1908 deals with Plaint. Rules relating to Plaint has been discussed in this order.

- Provide supporting evidence: Include any documents that support your claim, such as contracts, invoices, receipts, promissory notes, or any other relevant evidence. Number and list these documents in an attached annexure or schedule.
- State the cause of action: Identify the legal basis for your claim. It could be breach of contract, non-payment of dues, loan default, or any other applicable legal grounds. Reference any relevant laws or statutes that support your claim.
- Claim for interest and other costs: If applicable, mention any interest or additional costs that have accrued due to the non-payment or delay. Specify the rate of interest and the period for which it has been calculated.
